Have you ever felt like you needed a degree to understand some of the art that's out
there? I know I have! Hopefully you won't feel that way about my humble offerings!
My hope is that they will make you smile or make you think but ALWAYS make
you feel encouraged! There's too much sadness in the world and while I'm NOT
an advocate for pretending it's not there, I think we all need our "funny bone"
tickled in the midst of it all! ENJOY!! As a child one of my earliest memories centered around art! One year my older brother decided to make his Christmas presents for all the aunts and uncles. I would tiptoe into his room just to get a peek at all the colorful paints and plaster of paris figurines lined up in a row! I still remember the excitement I felt from day to day as I saw those figurines come to life! From elementary school through college I continued to be involved in any and all art classes and loved every single one! I met and married my wonderful husband in 1975 and for several years had a traditional job and was happy “just” being a newlywed. I remember one night 3 or 4 years after we were married I realized that if I didn’t “create” something that very second I would explode! From then on I have had an insatiable appetite for learning new art forms and have been fortunate enough to learn techniques in drawing and painting, stained glass, quilting, jewelry design, woodworking and ceramics . >>> |
I was contacted by a fabric company in California 6 years ago about selling some
of my artwork and was thrilled when they purchased over 50 of my designs for their
fabric line! A few years later I sold one of my designs to a paper company
for stationery and just recently have seen my designs turned into rubber stamps! Last year I discovered the world of COLLAGE and ASSEMBLAGE! I am able to incorporate all of the different art mediums I have learned over the years into this fun and exciting new venture! I love turning antique photographs and found objects into “one-of-a-kind” dolls, or creating new lives for these “forgotten relatives” using vintage cigar boxes and recycled materials! I sincerely hope that they will bring a smile to your face! God Bless You!
