Library Pocket mini albums. They are made from 3.5 by about 5 inch library card pockets. There are two sizes, the ones I used are the longer ones. They have a longer back. To make the mini albums is SUPER simple! In fact silly simple! Just lay two pockets side by side. I did one face up, one face down. Then run a strip of gaffers tape, or book binding tape, any kind of tape along the two edges that are butted together. Flip the envelope on the right over, like turning a page. Set another pocket next to it and tape again. Keep doing that until you have as many pages as you want in the album. To cover I have done it like I was binding a book with end papers etc. The easy as pie way is to just glue a piece of paper onto the top and back pocket. Then glue another piece of paper along the sides to create the spine. I started out as a scrapbooker and feel guilty for not keeping up on the scrapbooks, so what I like to do now is mix in real family pictures with collage pictures. I even have a few old family pictures that get thrown in a lot. The little girl with the flag is my Granddaughter, the little girl in the party hat is my sister. Even though I used lots of Red, White and Blue as well as flags I was trying to think outside of the Flag box for an Americana look. What makes America different? A little about me. I grew up in sunny southern California and have been a craft nut for as long as I can remember! I currently live in Las Vegas, NV with my dear hubby and three rambunctious Labrador retrievers. I have always LOVED photography! So when the scrapbooking thing became popular I was right there with my non archival glue and shaped scissors hacking up those photographs. LOL. I have an online store, www.TreasureArtTrends.com, with two of my girlfriends who are as crazy as I am about paper which we thought would support our habit. NOT. We just buy more stuff! Will somebody please help us and go shop at our store. We can't stop ourselves from buying more! LOL. I have been doing more of the altered book, alter everything, than scrapbooking in the last few years. Which is a shame since I have the most adorable grandchildren to use as models. However, I do mix in some pictures of them along with other family members both vintage and modern with the collage images. Seems like the mini albums have really caught my fancy. I love making them and adding lots of pockets, tags and hiding places. Keri Pettit 10 06. |
